A Pavement musical is heading to New York in December
A musical about Pavement by Alex Ross Perry titled Slanted! Enchanted! A Pavement Musical is heading to New York for two performances in December.
Slanted! Enchanted! A Pavement Musical is written and directed by Alex Ross Perry (Her Smell), who also directed Pavement's "Harness Your Hopes" video starring Sophie Thatcher in March. The musical, which is about Pavement, will star Michael Esper, Zoe Lister-Jones and Kathryn Gallagher.
Pitchfork reports that a press release states, "The majesty and mystery of Pavement, one of rock music’s most unique treasures, brought to life on the stage for an abbreviated, unforgettable stand."
The shows will take place on 1 and 2 December at New York City's Sheen Center on Bleecker Street, and are dubbed as "workshop performances". As well as including songs by Pavement, the musical features feature arrangements by Keegan Dewitt and Dabney Morris, and choreography by Angela Trimbur and assistant Tenaya Kelleher.
