Willow Kayne arrives with brash genre-bending debut "Two Seater"
Taking cues from hip hop culture and '90s pop, "Two Seater" showcases Willow Kayne's freeform approach to music.
Making her major-label debut with "Two Seater", London-based multi-disciplinary artist Willow Kayne has been hiding away waiting to make her next move. Having put out music independently over the past few years, Kayne's latest effort comes with heavyweight backing from Columbia, which sees her become labelmates with one of her heroes – Tyler, The Creator.
Kayne's love of hip hop, R&B, soul and garage has always been part of her sound, evident on early releases like the heavy-hitting "GIBBERISH" and the breezy "CTRL ALT DLT", but with "Two Seater" Kayne is more refined, and more in control than ever. Channelling new inspirations in her refreshed project, the track arrives with an equally arresting video.
A rollercoaster blast, Kayne speeds through mesmerising rapped verses before showcasing her softer side with a soothing hook. The Bristol-born artist is quite right to be as confident as she appears in the clip. A braggadocious debut proper, Willow Kayne's multi-faceted talents are condensed into this short, but very exciting first look at her transformation.
