Listen: Warpaint - "No Way Out (Redux)"
You heard it right - Warpaint are back. The band premiered the first in “a series of new songs being released this year" on BBC Radio 1 this week, and it's entirely enchanting.
The LA lot have developed the innately unique ability to make your hair stand on end as your toes start to tap. Already a live favourite, "No Way Out (Redux)" is the first new track to come from the group since their self-titled second album last year.
As a haunting vocal ushers in driving percussion and awe-inducing harmonies, a darkly dynamic bassline resounds throughout; the perfect counterpart to sweetly soaring vocals. A chill starts to shiver down your spine and a rhythm sets in motion through your system. Equally as irresistible as it is ethereal, "No Way Out (Redux)" both startles and spellbinds, weaving its magic as it drowns out all your surroundings until it seems that nothing else matters.
