The Caledonian Road rapper follows acclaimed singles “Aurelia” and “Pamela” with new EP RED, a heady mix of Bad era MJ and D’Angelo funk.
Guesting on Mura Masa’s album, writing a tune with Liss and releasing on Nao’s Little Tokyo Recordings suggests Tom Tripp is hitting the mark. The subtle blend of neon pop, R&B, trap and all-around ingenious production is positioning the North Londoner as a flag bearer for a new sound, pure amalgamation and unorthodoxy. RED is an extension of that and an extension of Tripp’s interest in a variety of genres and styles. In his own words “I’m just getting started”.
RED is out now via Prime Sound.
