Saltwater Sun go Wild with a glorious burst of life affirming power pop
West London five-piece Saltwater Sun continue their rise as one of the most promising new guitar bands to emerge in 2015, revealing the title cut from their debut EP Wild - a divine burst of power pop delivered with a wry, sardonic grin.
"Wild", following on from debut single "Habit On My Mind" and the riff-laden "Making Eyes" is primed with skyscraping hooks and shimmering guitars, the whole thing oozing with a cocksure confidence and grunge-lite attitude that could quite easily see them 'do a Wolf Alice' in 2016.
Although anthemic and life affirming on the exterior, lyricially "Wild" is actually "about the flaws in my character and how I let people down as a result of those" - says the band's vocalist Jennifer. Listen to the track, premiering today at Best Fit, below.
Saltwater Sun are playing at our week-long new music festival in January, on a bill with Diet Cig and INHEAVEN. Tickets are available now from £6 for each night, or £25 for the whole week.
The Wild EP is released through London indie Hand In Hive on November 13.
