Pumarosa announce debut record The Witch and share smoky new single "Dragonfly"
Psych-pop quintet Pumarosa have today shared "Dragonfly" to celebrate the announcement of their long-awaited debut LP The Witch.
"Dragonfly" follows Pumarosa's impressive "Priestess", "Cecile", and "Honey" singles - only "Cecile" doesn't make the final LP tracklisting. The 10-tracker boasts plenty to chew through, with almost half of the songs stretching over the six-minute mark.
Leviathan plates of atmospheric noise shimmy and shift through the mist on "Dragonfly", with electronic blips and bloops sparring with the gritty, warped rock riffs on display. Isabel Muñoz-Newsome's voice is typically stunning, worming its way through the sonic melee and acting as a constant to latch onto as the world around changes into alien shapes.
"We are so used to protecting ourselves from each other that when the time comes to be open, sometimes we can’t do it. 'Dragonfly' is about shedding this armour," say Pumarosa of the new track.
Pumarosa have a heap of dates planned, including a stop at London's Oval Space on 20 April. Find out more about their live plans.
