Building on the frankly stunning ‘Breaking’ from last year, rising London starlet Daisy ‘Syron’ Russell returns today with the follow-up single ‘Here’.
A slight change of pace and direction than previous offerings, ‘Here’ ditches the nineties revival and goes for a more down beat feel. Balearic summer vibes meet reggaeton esque synth stabs, all augmented by Russell’s sweet vocal that takes the insecurities of ‘Breaking”s “I keep forgetting that I’m not allowed to love you” and replaces with a more assured and straight ahead love song of devotion and commitment: “I’m here for life”. It’s all ridiculously charming stuff.
‘Here’ is released via Ministry Of Sound / Black Butter on 24 March. Stream the track in full below.
