Fresh from inking a deal with Atlantic Records and confirming as main support for the forthcoming London Grammar UK tour, Sivu – one James Page – continues to assert himself as one of the most prominent new singer-songwriters of the past 12 months with new single ‘I Lost Myself’.
Dark and broody, ‘I Lost Myself’ sees Sivu in full on self meditation mode. A tribal backbone drives the track along with a predatory feel that’s both unsettling and massively captivating. Although Page’s lyrics hark back to a time of self loathing and regret, somehow the track’s relentless pace seems to create a positive spin on the story “all I ever wanted was some purpose and some respect”.
Sivu will bring his heart swelling insular pop to Best Fit’s joint showcase with ASL Records next weekend at the Norwich Sound and Vision festival. Other acts performing at the Studio Room of OPEN are Clare Maguire, Pawws and Crushed Beaks. Full info can be found here.
