London's Mt. Wolf have unravelled a new cut called "Hamburg", and it's our Song Of The Day.
The track follows "Red", the title track from their upcoming EP, and sees the now three-piece continue their stellar return from hiatus with elegance. It's an understated pop cut with the band's signature blend of organic/synthetic - using those sounds, they construct an enormous, sprawling tune with folk-tinged flickers and hazy atmospheres. It conjures visions of magical, faraway lands perched on mountaintops, swarmed by clouds passing by. As usual, it's a particularly evocative slice of sound.
Sebastian (Bassi) Fox, Stevie McMinn and Alex Mitchell are soon to release the long-awaited follow up to 2013's Hypolight.
Mt. Wolf's new Red EP will drop via X Novo on 13 April.
