Listen: Johnny Flynn – “The Wrote and The Writ” [Live Version Premiere]
Fans of the Cape Town-born, London-based folk musician Johnny Flynn will no doubt be eager to fill their ears with a new live version of “The Wrote and The Writ”.
This playful cautionary tale from Flynn’s 2008 debut album A Larum showcases his rich vocals and lively guitar work. The strength of his performance makes it clear that he enthralled sold-out crowds with his style of lyrical storytelling during his recent solo tour in the US.
The track is taken from Live in Washington DC, a concert recording slated for deluxe digital release on 7 April via Transgressive. The live set can be bundled along with a download of 2013’s Country Mile or pre-ordered separately.
