Quick and to the point, the artist formerly known as David’s Lyre wastes no time pulling out all the stops, harmonies, and saxophones (!) on, “For You”.
Fyfe, the latest reincarnation of musician Paul Dixon, has spent the last year building up a well-acclaimed catalogue of tracks (“Solace”, “Lies, Pt. II”, “St. Tropez”) on which his wide-ranging vocals and low key pop inclinations have become trademark. “For You” is the logical progression of those tones and yet offers a boisterous, more upbeat atmosphere – contradictory to vaguely forlorn lyrics not often heard before. And we really must mention that brass again.
“For You” is released on 23 June.
