You'll recognise him from Frank Ocean's "Nikes" visual, now Cosmo Pyke's making his own waves
"There's nothing to do/There's nothing to say/This love's sweet like tooth decay," opens up 18 year old Cosmo Pyke on his first full single release "Social Sites", the words tumbling from his mouth in a casually bruised drawl.
The South Londoner, who shot to prominence starring in Frank Ocean's "Nikes" video, has only gone and crafted one of the most tenderly enchanting odes to milennial break ups you'll ever hear. Between popping up in other people's clips, Pyke can be found moonlighting as a skater, spray paint artist, model, and of course, a mult-instrumentalist and vocalist whose intelligently fuzzy and understated production - a twang of reverb-blurred electric guitar here and a kiss of detuned hi-hat there - and soulful croon is going to make real waves in 2017.
Now complete with a suitably lo-fi, retro visual - which was partly filmed in his grandmother's house - "Social Sites" has quickly turned Cosmo Pyke into my favourite newcomer from South London's burgeoning stoner-songwriter scene.
