Carmody releases the first track off her new EP, the dreamy “Skin”
Having already amassed a loyal following as a result of her collaborations with Tom Misch, London-based songstress Carmody has revealed the first single off her new self-titled EP, “Skin”.
Continuing in a similar vein to her previous work on the Out To Sea EP, “Skin” is a whimsical pop track featuring an immediate chorus that is sure to delight (and grow) her already sizeable fanbase.
Dreamy, romantic lyrics (“my mind it draws you near/the pull of you”) are recounted over a carefree piano-led rhythm, which slowly transforms into a chill out/house beat.
And then there's the vocals, which stand out front and centre. They amplify her songwriting abilities, the strength of which are left in no doubt.
The four-minute pop track has time to not only feature a memorable chorus, but an almighty crescendo of synth-pop goodness to bring everything to a fitting end.
“Skin”, co-written and produced by Carassius Gold, is taken from Carmody's forthcoming self-titled EP, due for release on 29 April.
