London based (by way of Russia) newcomer Shura released her debut single “Touch” last month, immediately igniting a torrent of praise and ‘Next Big Thing’ murmurs. And it’s not surprising. “Touch” is as strong a debut single as you’re likely to hear this year.
Soft, lilting 90s R&B set against painfully honest lyrics that speak of that irreversible bond between a former lover (“there’s a love between us still but something’s changed and I don’t know why”). The track itself, as addictive and alluring as the close encounter mentioned within the song’s lyrics. Let’s hope that the imminent new material hits the same sensory zones.
