Trevor Sensor wanders a rust belt parade in the visuals for debut single "The Reaper Man" [Premiere]
Country-pop troubadour Trevor Sensor is airing his video for upcoming debut single "The Reaper Man" on Best Fit.
The Sterling, Illinois native washes his raw noises with modern US woes. Raised in an ailing rust belt town (formerly the 'Hardware Capital Of The World', now akin to the "Lynchian neighbourhood of Lumberton from Blue Velvet"), Sensor's slogged through the fading American Dream.
With his interest in The Violent Femmes, Smashing Pumpkins, J.D. Salinger, Arthur Miller and more, it was clear that small town life wasn't his future. On lone-wandering travels, Sensor learned from "ex-junkies" he washed dishes with, and began to set his troubles to music - the result's a ground-down, but remarkably hopeful, voice searching for redemption, identity, and a place to call home.
The video for "The Reaper Man" finds a sombre Sensor walking through a parade in an unnamed American town rife with rusted tractors and ex-miners. For something so simple, it strikes a chord with Sensor's grizzled vocals in the background.
Sensor's debut single is out 20 July via One Too Many Records.
