TĀLĀ is the moniker of a mysterious new London-based producer and latest addition to Aesop. So far, we’ve gathered she is of Iranian descent, but with her only just creating an online presence in social media/music networks in the last week there’s still a lot to be revealed about this new artist.
TĀLĀ has so far collaborated with West London house and dubstep producer T. Williams on the bubbly and upbeat “On My Own” and is now set to release the promising EP, The Duchess. To the attention of the online public, she is streaming the EP’s eponymous track – a far departure from the T. Williams collaboration with artwork created by Studio Moross.
Introduced by a ghostly dissonant choir, “The Duchess” is a slow-paced electronic amalgam of snapping beats, heavy synth bass and vocal samples used as dark and slightly unsettling instrumentation. The stretched-out synth sounds and soulful muffled vocals lighten the mood of this ghostly urban experiment. Honestly, we’re intrigued to find out more.
