Soulful songstress Etta Bond realises nothing is as it seems in A2 collaboration "Surface"
Etta Bond and rapper A2 have collaborated on "Surface", a track that presents a more vulnerable side to the soulful singer.
Built on a thin layer of intricate melodies, the retro tinged keys break up the persistent beat, ticking quickly under the vulnerable vocals of Etta Bond.
Taking a softer approach, the soulful songstress calmly assesses her reality, bringing the track to a soothing level.
Etta Bond has been slowly building to the release of new material. Having made appearances at London club residencies, Bond is kickstarting a comeback that we can only look forward to.
Teaming up with rapper A2, his verse on "Surface" brings a window of quick delivery as he traces through replies to Bond's questions throughout.
"Surface" is a track that highlights her ability to deliver the coldest things in the warmest manner. The track might not be drenched in sunshine, but the soulful singer has warm tones entwined with small bursts of huskiness, which is undoubtedly infectious.
