Watch: Solomon Grey – “Last Century Man”
Black Butter new boys and globetrotting electronic duo, Solomon Grey, have this week released their new video for dynamic B-side, “Last Century Man”, in which the viewer is taken on a futuristic, visual roller coaster through a mystical Tron-like universe.
Formerly based near Sydney, Australia, Tom Kingston and Joe Wilson, aka Solomon Grey, returned to the UK in late 2012 to release their self-titled LP.
Paired with second single “Firechild”, “Last Century Man” is a symphony of electronic ecstasy, combining wistful, Bon Iver-esque vocals with melancholic horn phrases, all set to a soundtrack of soothing bass and arpeggiated synth riffs.
Directed by Tom Lock, and put together with old CGI footage, the newly-released video hauls the unsuspecting viewer through a triangular portal of psychedelia, before embarking upon a dazzling journey along a vivid highway of vibrant colours and kaleidoscopic lights.
See Solomon Grey’s much vaunted live show at The Courtyard, London on 27 February, where they will be supported by neon-funk outfit Tundra.
