Annual class clown winner Baker Wallis' musical project Semi-Attractive Boy follows through with some of that tongue-in-cheek behaviour his classmates recognised when voting for him to win the award, which he won even in his sophmore year when he didn't attend classes.
"Her Heart Isn't Beating for Me" is an impressive debut in both its vision and sonic palette. Offering a familiar guitar-flecked dream-pop sound, Wallis' raw lyrics and vocals add a unique edge to the track.
The track marks the arrival of another interesting act on independent label 20XX who have already introduced us to joan and alayna.
