Watch: Sea Change - "Bridges"

Aptly suiting a name like Sea Change, “Bridges” unfolds like time-lapse photography, its subtle changes and broad sonic swathes dissolving in slow motion like an ebb tide. Indeed, the song’s accompanying video (directed by animator Marie Hjelmerud) underlines the degree to which the song’s aesthetic is tied to glacial developments, as slow-shifting imagery is overlaid with abstract color. Underneath it all is a lush soundscape of cotton drum machines, airy synthesizers and intermittent electronic noises all haloed by Sundes’ warm, flexible alto; a rich instrument that gives a human pulse to an otherwise uncanny soundscape. “Bridges” will be available on limited edition 7” vinyl and digitally. Sea Change’s debut album is expected to drop later this year.
