Puppy sign to Spinefarm Records, share new single "Beast"
Rock and roll outfit Puppy have signed a record deal, and to celebrate they're sharing a new single.
Timing the announcement to mark the arrival of spring on the Northern Hemisphere, Puppy are seeing in the new season with the announcement of a new deal. They've even got a new single to boot.
All pummeling rhythms and blazing refrains, "Beast" is a monster of gargantuan proportions, demonstrating the band's characteristic affinity for stadium-sized rock and roll in all of its glory. Accompanied by a music video that's equally as sinister as its namesake, the single is as dark as it is delicious.
For anyone who's a fan of the band's previous guises (referenced ever so wonderfully in the T-shirt worn by the the boy in the video) "Beast" may sound a little familiar. Rerecorded and renergised, "Beast" will feature as an additional track on a reissue of the band's Vol. II EP.
"We couldn't be more pleased to be working with the guys over at Spinefarm," Puppy say, "and for a company of their calibre to be involved with us is a bit of a dream come true. Being able to say we're on the same label as some killer bands we’re really into still feels mad when we stop and think about it, but more than anything, it's a real honour. We are so stoked, my dudes."
"For me, the best bands operate on different levels," the label's Dante Bonutto adds. "There’s the songs, of course, but behind that a way of seeing the world, a singular vision that informs both music and visuals. From the first time we met the guys in Puppy and heard their music, we were drawn into their world, their vision, and knew we wanted to bring that world to Spinefarm."
