Tyson McVey and Shaun Savage together form London-based duo PANES. Their debut release “Choice Errors” makes a definite impact, with a gritty bass line and thrilling crescendo.
However, Tyson, daughter of Neneh Cherry, counters the darker percussive elements with an ethereal vocal performance. Floating along with complete ease, she demonstrates some serious vocal potential; she alone provides the track with its smoother RnB vibes. “Choice Errors” is a remarkable feat of cross-genre sound, and it’s achievement lies in its ability to blend its pop, bass and RnB ingredients seamlessly. It’s only a beginning but PANES are definitely one to keep an eye on.
