Danish alt-pop outfit off bloom want you to embrace your inner icon on "Mona Lisa"
The latest single to be taken from their forthcoming debut album, off bloom's "Mona Lisa" is all about the power of self confidence.
For the past six months or so, Danish duo off bloom have been busy putting the finishing fluourishes to their long-awaited debut album in bloom. Since the alt-pop outfit emerged in 2016 with debut single "Love To Hate It" they've gone from strength to strength with every release.
With renewed creative control, they explain, "we've spent most of 2020 in the studio finishing and finetuning our debut album." As for the new single, they describe it as "a low-key confidence boost" explaining that "[it's] about feeling like you are the best, coolest and smartest." "[With "Mona Lisa" we're] trying to describe that feeling you get when it seems like you're the only one who sees what's going on."
"Mona Lisa" is all about reaching for the iconic status of its title's namesake. Perfect for summer, the breezy new track sees the band diversify their sound further away from the bombastic electro-pop sound they emerged with, opting for lilting guitar lines sailing below the unprecedented cool of lead singer Mette's delicate vocals.
