O-SHiN is nothing short of magical on mesmerising new cut "Not How I Know Me"
The Berlin-based artist walks the thin, silvery line between fantasy and reality on her latest offering, resulting in an absolute gem of pop experimentalism.
O-SHiN first caught our attention back in 2017 with the wonderful workings of "Walking Water", and has since fine-tuned her surreal, otherworldly sound in the most mesmeric fashion.
"Not How I Know Me" is a track that is so jam-packed with inspiration that it practically judders as it tries to fit it all in. The song's staggering beat is offset by O-SHiN's emotional and honest lyricism that completely disarms you with its tenderness.
Speaking on the creation of the track, O-SHiN says "Back in the cabin in Sweden I collected sounds on my magic hard drive. I love to blend global music influences and give space for psychedelia to take over. Out of these sounds and ideas, many O-SHiN songs were born - just like 'Not How I Know Me‘. It’s a song about an awkward feeling of insecurity. Sometimes it’s hard to be yourself - and not the idea of what you think somebody else’s idea of you should be."
Whether it's the poignancy of the track's unique set-up or O-SHiN's shimmering vocal delivery, it is impossible to not be entranced by the track's magic.
