Moby Rich deliver a joyful juxtaposition on contagious new track "Blink"
The LA duo Moby Rich continue to produce playful indie-pop with speckles of sorrow on new offering "Blink".
"Blink" is like plunging into a ball pit as a child - the excitement to dive in is carried by their light-hearted keys melody, but there's also an underlying twinge of fear at the possibility of never surfacing as the reverb creeps in.
Maxwell Joseph and Connor Pledger's playful melancholy shines bright on their new single, as their contrasting pitches magnetise over the infectious "La's", levelling out to a comforting, yet anthemic duet that mutates with the brooding electronica that builds throughout the track.
The pair find themselves reflecting on losing someone to their selfish ways as they sing, "Look how your ego is driving the car / Blink / Blink / You're gone".
Flickering between a charming duet and belting bursts of indie-pop, Moby Rich continue to cement their youthful energy with compelling capability.
Moby Rich's new single arrives as their first offering since their 2018 debut EP Our First EP, which featured singles "Pocket" and "Yoko Ono".
