Lucas Nord brings a Scandi summer electro jam with “No One Even Knows My Name”
Swedish producer Lucas Nord's latest offering brings a wave of buoyant, dreamlike soundscapes with “No One Even Knows My Name”, featuring Stockholm singer-songwriter Husky.
Drenched in sonically serene production, airy vocals and a punchy bass-line, Lucas Nord continues to make his mark on the dance scene with “No One Even Knows My Name”. Possessing a zesty, euphoric quality, Nord’s carefree bop will be the perfect addition to your summer playlist.
“No One Even Knows My Name” mixes pop elements with indie-dance, and lyrics that flow with the feelgood vibe of this breezy single. Husky adds that the emergence of the song came about from a disappointing industry night out, explaining, “I had such high hopes for that night, but when I got there I realised nobody gave a shit about me haha. So this song is really about walking into a room with high expectations and going home disappointed.”
Lucas Nord adds, “I think we’ve all felt small like that at some point in our life, whether that’s meeting a bunch of successful people who have no clue who you are or if it’s just a feeling of being unnoticed and lonely in general. I like how it’s still got some hope in it though.”
From reaching a dance chart number one with Tove Lo collab “Run On Love” to winning an award for producing Sony Norway signee EMIR's album, Nord continues to prove his versatility to the industry.
Thanks to Craig David and Artful Dodger’s sounds shaping his early years, as well as having lived in London, Nord views his music as “UK-ish dance music with some Swedish melancholy”. In this instance “No One Even Knows My Name” moves between pop and indie-dance, and takes a self-reflective approach to songwriting, with Nord’s dominating bass-line and zany sounds washing over Husky’s vocals. The perfect track for living in the moment.
