Listen: Vaults - "Mend This Love" [Premiere]
London's Vaults - who massively impressed us with "Premonitions" and "Lifespan" - are now sharing their latest EP cut "Mend This Love".
Links between the electronic three-piece and the likes of James Blake, SOHN and London Grammar have been made in the past, and while the acts mentioned all share the same chilly, synth-based world, Vaults employ their own tactics to inflict emotional traumas and make you move like its the last day on Earth.
"Mend This Love" uses sparse, echo-laced percussion and sparkling fantasy keys to form a sturdy basis from which the vocals can soar. Its a slow-burning, intimate pop ballad about lost romance: "It's too late to mend this love," sings Blythe Pepino with agony and vigour.
Vaults' Vultures EP is out 1 December on Virgin/EMI.
