TĀLĀ’s upcoming EP Alchemy continues the legacy of the singer and producer’s first short player The Dutchess by bringing her signature propulsive production, beats and soulful vocals with a new, shiny coat of armor.

The EP contains the track “Everybody’s Free”, a cover of Quindon Tarver’s 1996 hit. The American singer recorded the track as a teen that was included in Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo + Juliet, one of TĀLĀ’s cinematographic favorites.

TĀLĀ shelves her Eastern inspirations and instead delves into experimenting with gospel choirs, with her loud and clear chanting allowed to roam free along the layers of soulful voices.

Musically, she has never been so bombastic - the R&B-cum-electropop chorus is climactic every time it comes around, and it perfectly suits the uplifting lyrics. It is grand, loud and shimmering; basically, Baz Luhrmann-approved.
