21-year-old Patrick Madsen - also known as Danish producer Sekuoia - has unveiled a sublime new cut called "Waves".
Comprising an array of tangled layers, "Waves" links up organic lo-fi guitar with sprawling ambient synths. His own hollowed-out vocals tremble above, doused in reverb, and a thwumpy bass lick hums between the crack of snare and shimmer of cymbal.
Speaking about the track, Madsen said:
"One night I was playing random stuff on this Spanish guitar, and singing through a mic with loads of reverb on, and while just singing random words, the melody and lyrics just occurred. Since then I’ve been adding new elements along the way. It’s the first track I’ve made with proper lyrics, and in a way it has been the hardest track for me to produce."
Sekuoia will headline Stoke Newington's Waiting Rooms on 2 December.
