Palace whip out the winding guitars on bluesy cut “Kiloran”
Last year Palace announced themselves with one of 2014’s standout EPs. Lost In The Night was, and remains, a brilliantly concise introduction to their bluesy, rough-round-the-edges rock n’ roll; much like The Districts’ near faultless mini album it is a collection of tracks that begs to be returned-to in lieu of a full length.
Now, aligning two sold out shows at the Red Gallery, the London four-piece have unveiled the first taster of a follow-up EP Chase The Light due June 8 via Beatnik Creative / Fiction Records (The Maccabees, Spector, Tame Impala).
Once again the music is lead by Leo Wyndham’s weaving vocal, which broods along above typically winding guitars, bumbling bass and crashing drums in a recipe for another blues-rock track which has the ability to both relax and inspire as it builds and falls effortlessly; it grows organically into a beautifully executed refrain that carries both passion and poise.
As the recent show proved, the debut effort was no fluke and Palace have a lot more great music to come; stream the first taster “Kiloran” below.
