North London songwriter KHUSHI impresses again with latest track, “Phantoms”.
A jazzy, smooth and ethereal piece, “Phantoms” demonstrates the truly gorgeous tone of KHUSHI’s vocals, which sit centre stage across the verses. With an increase in tempo and layers of instrumental sound at each chorus, this is a lovely merge of moods: contemplative and all encompassing.
Hs sound is somewhat reminiscent of bands like Tall Ships, offering a similar youthful energy and cleverly combining indie-pop and rock styles to truly exquisite effect. “Phantoms”, like earlier release “Magpie” , is a track to get lost to in your headphones; the kind of music used to soundtrack those more thoughtful moments in your day. We can’t wait to hear more soon.
KHUSHI plays Electroworkz, London on 6 March. Tickets are available here.
