Listen: Cashmere Cat – Kiss Kiss (Canblaster Remix)
2012 brought the emergence of Norwegian production sensation Cashmere Cat, and his squeaky splatters of synth and effects, coupled with soaring beats of the most epic proportions, and chopped up vocal delays all stirred together to create his wildy enthralling Mirror Maru EP.
Recently, a number of fellow producers lent their hand at remixing Cashmere Cat’s debut EP, with French producer Canblaster, being the first to debut his edit of the track, ‘Kiss Kiss’. Turning the song into a sexually charged, drug-fueled day dream, Canblaster cuts out the anticipation builds and club-banger drops, taking Cashmere Cat’s idea of a kiss, from the dancefloor to the after party bedroom. Filling in the gaps with lusty R&B vocals, slinking keyboard effects and breathy excitement, Canblaster closes out his rework with a final plea, ‘Just want a kiss’. The soundtrack to falling in love in the ADD generation.
Cashmere Cat’s Mirror Maru Remix EP vinyl/digital release is a collaboration between French label Ed Banger and Belgium’s Pelican Fly. Each label selected two artists to remix a track of Mirror Maru, with the digital version featuring an exclusive “digital only” bonus remix, all of which is out 2nd April.
