Listen: Banks – Fall Over (Djemba Djemba Remix)
When listening to break out Los Angeles songstress, Banks’ single ‘Fall Over’ we can’t help but be reminded of those unexpected nights where the turn of events is anything but mundane, where at some point you ponder the question, Can this night get any weirder? And the answer of course is always, Yes, yes it can. Thanks to producer Djemba Djemba, the depths to which ‘Fall Over’ dive are beyond our wildest imaginations.
But who wants normal anyways? UK Dubstep’s long lost cousin along with hip hop worthy drops are weaved through what feels like the soundtrack to DRIVE on Djemba Djemba’s rework of ‘Fall Over’. Deciding we’re in it for long haul this eve, we dive into Djemba’s world of vintage syths, and twinkling spheres of plasma effects, head first. Tonight even trap makes an appearance. Already enthralled with the sounds and sights all around us, the scattered percussion booms and 808 kick drum pops seem to marry just right, creating a memorable experience unlike any we could have hoped for.
