Los Angeles has a new star in their fair city, except this one isn’t etched into the walk of fame. The self-taught pianist, vocalist and songwriter, Banks has just released her dark new track, ‘Fall Over’, melding her sultry words that range from wispy, high shrills to billowing husky sonnets with static metal breaks and thumping synthesizer notes.
Though she could easily take the strictly pop singer route, Banks chooses to dive deeper into sounds, arrangements and concepts giving her poetic songs a more complex worldly feel we have to admit, we’re a bit obsessed with.
‘Fall Over’ is the B-side to Banks’ ‘Before I Ever Met You’, her debut single out this week on IAMSOUND/Good Years.
