Listen: Kwamie Liv - "Follow You"
Following on from her attention-demanding “5 AM”, Kwambie Liv returns with her latest piece of brooding, sultry and subtly twisted electro-RnB.
Effortlessly positioning herself between the pace-setting likes of FKA Twigs and BANKS, the Danish-Zambian artist melts her hushed, seductive vocal with dark, SOHN -esque production from Baby Duka.
Showcasing her breadth of talent, a rap verse nods towards trip-hop influences, while a slow-burning refrain adds a melancholic mystery. “Ring-a-ringin’ on your phone / you’ve been living in the fast line” Liv whispers, beautifully juxtaposing both delicacy and sultry power in equal measure.
The latest impressive member of the growing pantheon of female-fronted, Scandinavian-based artists, say hello to Kwamie Liv. This new effort is sure to “Follow You” for some time.
