It’s not too grand a statement to say that Kwabs is one of the best new artists to emerge this year – with each new track I find myself enraptured by dark, moody production and phenomenal, soul-packed vocals.
The SOHN-produced “Something Right” – taken from the upcoming Pray For Love EP – has a real heft behind it, as though the world’s literally falling to pieces around you and the only comfort is the booming vocals of the 23-year old Ghanian-born singer; his lyrical soul-searching an attempt to keep the storm at bay. Percussion marches forward with malicious intent as synths swell and bubble with the darkness and intensity of a looming storm cloud.
From “Last Stand” to “Wrong or Right” to “Something Else” SOHN and Kwabs continue to reveal a deeper understanding of one other, with each spellbinding collaboration increasing in darkness, intensity and drama. Listen below.
