With the storming "Blackout", Julie Bergan gets set to be the new queen of pop

She already caused a commotion with the brilliant "Arigato" last year, and now Norwegian Julie Bergan has well and truly proved that to be far from a one-off.

She also provided an absolutely fire verse in "Attitudeproblem" (the P3 remix of the Karpe Diem track, alongside Silvana Imam, Izabell and Bendik) to show off her rapping ability, but on "Blackout" Bergan is back to what she does best - making terrific pop songs.

In under three minutes, the Norwegian packs in a gentle R&B intro, a giddy pre-chorus covered in synth claps and a stunning chorus that positively overwhelms with 808-style blaring noise, pitch-bent vocals and - of course - hook after hook.

With this, alongside Fanny Andersen's "Kids" and the prospect of new music from Astrid S and Sigrid, Norway is reclaiming the pop crown in 2017.
