Jordan Klassen harks back to the golden age of twee indie folk on "Housefly"
Insightful and vulnerable in equal measure, "Housefly" is the beginning of a new chapter for the decorated songwriter.
“Housefly” and subsequently its architect Jordan Klassen evoke a certain autumnal glow, delicate with a rustic overtone. Soft strings and mellow guitar cascade like falling leaves, giving the basis of a track which captures a scene set in a solitary log cabin in the midst of a forest glade. One can almost imagine Klassen’s housefly buzzing around a sturdy home in the woods, amidst lamplight and thick checkered shirts. It is an idyllic scene, one perfectly soundtracked by Klassen's dulcet tones and versatile instrumental arrangements.
