We last heard from South London’s HUNTAR on February’s “Expectations”, a lovely debut that mixed atmospheric mood and ambitious vocals so well that it was hard to believe it was a newcomer’s work. “Naked Noises” retains the spare, almost tribal feel of his first work while expanding the musical palette and inviting casual pop fans to hop on the bandwagon.
Like its predecessor, much of “Naked Noises” is bare bones, quiet and thoughtful. But when HUNTAR breaks big, he breaks VERY big—see the chorus-breaking beats and chirps (which sound like leftovers from Kanye West’s Yeezus sessions) and the references to “cinematic” lovemaking.
Expanding on the epic tendencies of his first single and honing exotic sounds with uncanny ability, HUNTAR has crafted a summer sex jam R Kelly would be proud of. Hop on. The bandwagon will soon be full.
