FRANÇOIS delivers tropical lovesick anthem "BE MINE"
FRANÇOIS' EP title-track "BE MINE" is a pulsating alt-pop anthem that sees him longing to take a relationship to the next level.
"BE MINE" completes FRANÇOIS' three-track EP of the same name, following last month's "ONE DANCE" and October's "Young N Dumb".
FRANÇOIS maintains his slick production on "BE MINE", which pulsates with tropical energy through the breezy melodies. His soft vocals emphasise the lovesick tone of the song as he sings, "Don't say that I didn't try / I'm slipping up my words so I'm saying goodbye."
The pulsing keys melody builds throughout the first verse, but instead of being teamed with a club-infused drop, FRANÇOIS dips into more sparse instrumentation, allowing the melodies to fade slightly as he sings about never wanting someone so bad with elongated words, drawing the sounds out to elevate the yearning tone.
When the chorus arrives, FRANÇOIS unleashes the bright instrumentation in full, instantly transporting the listener back to the Summer heat with more snappy percussion and the introduction of harmonies that accompany the tropical electro-pop chorus.
Speaking about the BE MINE EP (which lands in full tomorrow), FRANÇOIS explains, "This EP was written about reminiscing. It touches on some personal memories and some influence from watching the world go on around me. The whole EP was written over a few days and finished whilst spending some time recording in London. I hope people can feel touched and relate to the lyrics in ways that will feel personal to them."
