Forth Wanderers confront naivety with tenacious track "Know Better"
It's likely to say that the majority of people have wanted someone they can't have; a relatable topic that brings heaps of distress, desire and demand. Forth Wanderers, a slacker-rock outfit from New Jersey, are unearthing the cold truth that surrounds lust and love.
"Know Better" sees frontwoman Ava Trilling repeatedly convincing herself that naivety is nothing more than a trick of the mind, forcing herself to repel her heart's desire.
The infectious introduction reveals the group's intimate intricacy. Layered lo-fi guitars establish their hazy sound, sweeping back and forth between complex percussion patterns and the group's succulent storytelling.
Trilling's velvety vocals brush between heavenly harmonies and wispy warnings as the guitars glue to the sugar-coated confusion of whether to follow your head or your heart.
Towards the final chorus the instrumentals begin to spiral out of control, pushing the persistent pace to an ultimatum that, although has been addressed throughout the track, continues to hold fort.
It's undeniable that Forth Wanderers are encapsulating, enigmatic and exciting. "Know Better" delivers their dreamy sound, and teases us with what is only the beginning of their careers.
