Diet Cig blast through romance with new track "Dinner Date"
Diet Cig have shared "Dinner Date" from their forthcoming single, a whirlwind blast through heeded warnings and insecurities.
Verses meander around issues with scathing sincerity, building to choruses that ooze pent-up frustration. "My mum said don't buy vegetables / they won't last," Alex Luciano advises. "Well she's right 'cause our friendship is in the past."
Driving rhythms and layered hooks combine with Luciano's clear cut vocals to cast their spell. Bittersweet though this one may be, it's impossible to draw away from.
Turning their problems into a unique brand of dance-around-your-bedroom-when-no-one's-watching power-pop, Diet Cig are only at the start of showcasing what they're capable of.
"Sleep Talk"/"Dinner Date" is released via Father/Daughter and Art Is Hard on 18 September, and is available to preorder now.
