Deeds' new song could melt the coldest of hearts
The first new material from DEEDS since their highly promising Disorder EP last Spring, “This is How I Feel” is evidence of a tantalising progression in the London duo’s heavily nuanced sound.
As we've come to expect from the project, the visuals play a crucial role, so much so that you get the impression that - unlike many of their contemporaries for whom such concerns often come across as an afterthought - DEEDS conceive of their music and its videos as an inseparable whole.
The clip for this one, again concocted by the band’s Rollo Smallcombe, collages footage of a series of life’s truest pleasures (ice cream, rubber ducks, a civilised existence) melting away to primordial gloop, set to sumptuously warm, motorik electronica rich in the pair’s trademark indelible hooks.
