Writing songs from the age of thirteen, singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Corey Bowen can count Christopher Owens among his fans and has been labelled the "North East's answer to Mac DeMarco"
The 19-year-old Middlesbrough born Bowen cut demos in his bedroom for years and cites Todd Rundgren and Harry Nilsson as influences but on "If Birds Wish To Fly" there's a contemporary spin on psych revivalism that's both sunny and fresh.
Bowen's played support to Girls' frontman Owens and will be at Green Man Festival later this year.
"If Birds Wish To Fly" is released on 14 August.
