Ben Khan is back and his new track is the best thing you'll hear this week
Ben Khan's ongoing forays into the sensory and experimental face of pop continue on "1000".
Filling a space somewhere between Jamie XX and Arthur Russell, the new track sashays with an urgent bravado and is over before it barely begins, kinda like all the best songs do. It's a thrilling next-step for the 22-year old, who has carefully ridden more than 18 months of hype and acclaim.
The track, which premiered tonight as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record on BBC Radio 1 is taken from a new four-track EP of the same name, due out in May on Khan's own Blessed Vice label. It follows last year's debut 1992 EP and comes as Khan prepares to play his first headline shows. He's in the UK next month with dates at Glasgow King Tut's (12 April), Manchester Soup Kitchen (14 April) and London Cargo (15 April).
The 1000 EP is released on 11 May via Blessed Vice.
