Following his EP Happiness in Liquid Form, Alfie Templeman continues to dominate the indie realm in new single "Forever Isn't Long Enough".

Chess Club Records signee Alfie Templeman continues to dominate the indie scene with buoyant new bop “Forever Isn’t Long Enough”. As the first single since his acclaimed EP Happiness In Liquid Form, Templeman crafts another pop stomper and follows in the footsteps of earlier release “Obvious Guy”.

Using synths to add a kaleidoscopic range of colour to the track, the amalgamation of indie-pop, disco and funk elements give “Forever Isn’t Long Enough" a fun, carefree energy. Psychedelic soundscapes offer a dizzying, ethereal feel, held down by the cleverly placed bass and dominating drums. Amongst the zesty production, Templeman’s authentic lyrics encourage listeners to enjoy the best moments life has to offer.

Speaking on the track Templeman explains, “Some days I can’t stop thinking about how short life is and how you only have so much time to spend with the ones you love,” Templeman shares. "Deep, right? Honestly, I’ve made so many songs with the titles ‘Forever Isn’t Long Enough’ but this one felt the most meaningful.”

“I’m still way too young to give anyone life advice,” he adds. “But this track to me is about how I’ve noticed that the further away you are from your memories, the closer they are to your heart.”

One of the more touching tracks in his repertoire, “Forever Isn’t Long Enough” holds heightened meaning given Templeman’s stretch in hospital last year, due to a diagnosis of childhood lung disease. “It doesn’t really bother me, but I’m one of those 'vulnerable to Covid-19' people, so I’ve been shielding since March.” Despite the underlying meaning, the track effortlessly retains the playful charm that continues to draw people to this energetic new talent.

Directed by Thomas Davis, the bright and vibrant video ties in with the inspiration behind the track. “I’ve always wanted to make a really colourful video and this hit the spot,” Templeman explains. "Thomas and the crew did a wicked job of capturing how, no matter what age you are, you just gotta have a bit of fun! That’s really what the song is about.”
