With her debut EP due at the start of November, Peckham's Aadae has unveiled another taster from the record.
Following on from "Die Happy", the Nigeria-born singer returns to her African roots for the stirringly euphoric "Flatline (Make Me Lose My Mind)"
Mixing Highlife-style horns with soulful keys and a defiant, almost militaristic drumbeat which would be at home at a South London UKG night, the track switches back and forth between being openly vulnerable and boldly ardent. Aadae's voice is a dream, pulling from her gospel tradition as much as it does from western pop - it's filled with rare personality, maturity and seamless cross-pollination. "Flatline" is brilliant stuff.
