“We want the bass to sound like a dinosaur tearing apart a deer,” is just one of the comments made to The Line of Best Fit by rowdy Toronto noise-mongers METZ when we recently caught up with them at Canadian music festival, Pop Montreal.
Finally releasing their long awaited debut next week, we today unveil a stream of their self-titled album, recorded with Holy Fuck’s Graham Walsh in a dusty barn in the Canadian wilderness where the band were free to be raucous, as powerful and as enthralling as they wished. Capturing the massive, irresistible riffs, the driving melodies and the pounding rhythms that have made this trio such an exciting live proposition, METZ’s debut album turned out exactly as we all hoped and you can hear it here, now.
METZ will be released through Sub Pop on 15 October. Pre-order the album here, and catch the band at the following live dates:
21 Oct - Leeds, The Library
22 Oct – Glasgow, The Art School
23 Oct – Manchester, Kraak Gallery
24 Oct – London, Old Blue Last (Presented by The Quietus)
25 Oct – Paris, Nouveau Casino
