Death Team unleash house-pop belter "So Fresh" [Premiere]
Swedish electro duo Death Team are premiering new track "So Fresh" on Best Fit.
It follows the sublimely weird "Fucking Bitches In The Hood" (which "sounds like Andrew W.K. producing Little Richard"), and acts as another confident chunk of ballsy brilliance.
The duo, Johen Rafael Tilli and Mayka Edd ("a bikram yoga and popular psychology enthusiast who is in the process of writing her first self-help book"), met while performing at Spotify's HQ in Stockholm and decided to form Death Team early last year.
Tilli said of the project: “Thinking of strategies, making the right decisions at the right time and communicating the right stuff is all really intriguing to me... all the time we were evaluating where we were, what was happening and what we should do next. And that’s how we’ve got to the point that we are now.”
"So Fresh", Death Team's latest offering, fuses their wacked-out penchant for confident vocals and effervescent beats. It's a candy-coated tune, with house overtones and a desire to linger on the airwaves all summer, scaling back their surreal streak for a proper pop belter. Speaking about the cut, the band's Edd said that: “Some people dance to overcome their negative emotions. Just do what you need to do to feel good... there’s no place in Death Team to manifest your negative emotions!”
