London shoegazey fivepiece TOY are set to release ‘My Heart Skips A Beat’ – taken from their kraut-infused debut LP – on 11 March via Heavenly Recordings.
The track comes replete with this curiously entrancing promo video in which shots of the band bathed in strobe lighting performing are cut together with images of frontman Tom Dougall gazing intensely at a projection of Super 8 footage recorded during their recent tours. The variegated visuals meld nicely with the tune’s ripples of warped synth and droning guitars to form a compound that’s as euphoric as it is understated, and utterly unique to TOY.
